301 Redirections
A redirection in general is often used when administrating one or more websites. What people often don’t know is that there are various ways to so. Not all of them are equally suited for their purposes.
When a permanent redirection is desired we advise you to use a 301 redirection.
Take for instance the example of our first client:
Two companies merging into one. Both with their own website (A+B). After their merge being realised, they created a new website (C). Both wanted the customers using bookmarks to their old sites (A/B) automatically redirected to their new site (C). This was done by simply pointing out the old url to the server of the new website.
Result: Now only the URL of the old website (A) appeared in the results of Google and the new one (C) disappeared. This due to Google’s way of avoiding double content and the old site having more history, Google´s preferred url became the old one (A).
To avoid these problems, we offer you a redirection service that lets you maintain your Page Ranking, forwards your e-mails plus you can actually save money.
You just need to hang on to your old domain and throw out your hosting account.
